Upon the press of a large button you get a free bottle of Coca-Cola, and if your even luckier a free surprise gift! The Financial Times has created a series of three interactive 3D infographics in collaboration with acclaimed infographic journalist, David McCandless, and projected in the Vanderbilt Hall in New York’s Grand Central Terminal. The 3D infographics were focused on the areas of business, economy and technology, and demonstrated the global breadth and expertise of the Financial Times. The installations are apart of the FT Graphic World campaign, an “innovative and thought-provoking visual exploration of global business and the world economy.” Commuters were invited to interact with the projections by walking across a large touch-sensitive mat, which controlled the visuals. Here are two very similar PR stunts, using hidden cameras and innocent bystanders for maximum shock effect. The first video was used to launch the high quality TV channel TNT in Belgium.
